From 1999-2001 Geneva and Dale County had some monumental battles as the two teams dominated high school football in Southeast Alabama. From 1999-2001 the Warriors and Panthers played 3 times with all the contests decided by a total of 20 points ( 12-0 Geneva, 7-6 Geneva, 34-27 Dale County).

During this period, Geneva had a 33 game regular season win streak snapped by Dale County by a score of 34-27 at Hugh Owen Memorial Stadium, and 1998-2001 were dynasty type years for the Panthers. The Panthers put together a record of 44-6 over the span.

Dale County was also making deep runs as well compiling a few 9 win seasons in which the Panthers gave them their only regular season loss and a 12 win season that included their streak ending win over the Panthers. Dale County lost to Madison Academy in the 2014 state championship game 70-34. With these two teams being back in the same region Friday night’s battle at Warrior Stadium is sure to be a classic.
