County Rivals: Geneva vs Geneva County

The Panthers started this game right where they left off against Samson before Thanksgiving break, jumping out to an 11-1 start. After that, things started to turn south for the Panthers, the Bulldogs then went on a 44-4 run and lead the Panthers 45-15 at the Half. The Panthers were never able to recover the big Geneva County run, even though Geneva County only outplayed Geneva 23-20 in the second half. The Panthers were led by Junior Timothy McReynolds with 9 points, Damion Kemmerlin with 6 points, and Tyrese McIntyre with 5 points. The Bulldogs were led by standout football star Emmanuel Henderson with 21 points and J’Quan Broxson with 20 points. E-Man and J’Quan accounted for a combined 42 out of the Bulldogs 68 total points. Geneva Lady Panthers vs Geneva County Lady Bulldogs

The Geneva Lady Panthers came into this county rivalry game against Geneva County with just 1 win on the season, that coming against St. James in the opening tournament of the season. The Lady Panthers came out strong on defense and hung with the hughly touted Lady Bulldogs for most of the first half. Offensively the Lady Panthers never could overcome the turnover issues that lingered throughout the game. The Lady Panthers finished the game with 21 turnovers, while losing 64-42. The Lady Panthers leading scorers were madison Johnson with 11, Tamarah Johnson with 10, and Melody Watson with 6. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Tennessee Lady Volunteer signee Karoline Striplin with 29 points. That’s right it’s officially Softball season. The Lady Panthers are coming off of a fantastic State Runner-up finish last year, but Coach Johnson and the Lady Panthers aren’t willing to settle for second. The Lady Panthers started their season off on the right foot with a 12-1 win over Andalusia. The Lady Panthers are returning all but one starter this year and are looking to go even farther. The Geneva Panther Baseball team has got off to a 2-3 start to their season with losses to Enterprise and New Brockton, and wins over Samson and Eufaula. The Panthers are returning a good bit of talent this year while only losing one to graduation last year. Basketball Season wraps up

Coach Bixby and the Geneva Lady Panthers wrap up a great season by losing to Montgomery Academy 42-26 in Montgomery. The Lady Panthers went undefeated in the area and won the Area Championship. The Lady Panthers finish the year with a 28-4 record and top 10 in the State. The Lady Panthers will be losing 4 starting seniors and 5 in all following this year, including Jesslyn Culverhouse, Nikki Lamb, Anslee Finch, Destiny (Snow) Dennard, and Meagan Smith.
