Lady Panthers Get Area Win

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity knocked in seven runs in the fifth on its way to an 11-1 victory over Opp on Tuesday.  Meagan Smith, Chloe Nance, Presley Hall, Nikki Lamb, Pazley Lamb, and  Anslee Finch all drove in runs in the frame.


Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity notched seven runs in the fifth inning.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Smith and Hall, groundouts by Lamb and Finch, and an error on a ball put in play by Nance and Lamb.

Lamb pitched Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity to victory. She surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Cassadi Adams took the loss for Opp. She surrendered five runs on four hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one.

Jesslyn Culverhouse led Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

Softball Saturday: Championship Game, Geneva Lady Panthers VS the Slocomb Lady Redtops

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity coasted to an easy victory over Slocomb 16-1 on Saturday

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity notched eight runs in the fourth inning.  The rally was led by singles by Peyton Walker, Meagan Smith, and Chloe Nance and an error on a ball put in play by Jaylee Stough and Presley Hall.

Nikki Lamb earned the victory on the rubber for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity. She lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero.  Stough threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

#8 took the loss for Slocomb. She surrendered nine runs on nine hits over two and a third innings, walking zero.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Anslee Finch put one out in the second inning. Makaley Boswell had a four bagger in the third inning.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity racked up 16 hits in the game.  Lamb, Boswell, Smith, and Finch each collected multiple hits for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.  Finch, Smith, Boswell, and Lamb each collected three hits to lead Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Pazley Lamb had the most chances in the field with five.

Softball Saturday: Lady Panthers VS Providence Christian

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity stole the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Providence Christian on Saturday.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity was down 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jesslyn Culverhouse singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Providence Christian to score four runs in the fifth inning.  Providence Christian offense in the inning was led by #5, #20, and #10, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Providence Christian fired up the offense in the first inning, when #4 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Nikki Lamb was credited with the victory for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity. She surrendered one run on two hits over one and one-third innings.

#10 took the loss for Providence Christian. She went five innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out one.

 Pazley Lamb started the game for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity. She lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one

Peyton Walker led Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity with two hits in three at bats.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Lamb made the most plays with  eight.

#5 went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Providence Christian in hits.  Providence Christian didn’t commit a single error in the field. #4 had  six chances in the field, the most on the team.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity had no trouble on offense today, winning big over Geneva County 16-1

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Jesslyn Culverhouse singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity notched six runs in the third inning.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity’s big inning was driven by singles by Pazley Lamb and Chloe Nance, a sacrifice fly by Anslee Finch,  by Meagan Smith, and an error on a ball put in play by Presley Hall.

Lamb earned the win for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity. She surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.

Hailey Archer took the loss for Geneva County. She surrendered four runs on five hits, walking zero.

 Hannah Phillips started the game for Geneva County. She went two innings, allowing 11 runs on nine hits

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity tallied 15 hits.  Nance, Culverhouse, Smith, Lamb, and Finch all managed multiple hits for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.  Nance went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity in hits.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Nikki Lamb had the most chances in the field with six.

Saturday Softball: Lady Panthers VS Headland

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity scored five runs in the fifth on its way to an 8-1 victory over Headland on Saturday.  Presley Hall, Nikki Lamb, and Makaley Boswell each had RBIs in the frame.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Meagan Smith singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Jesslyn Culverhouse singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, and Hall singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity tallied five runs in the fifth inning.  Hall, Lamb, and Boswell all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Friday Softball: Geneva Lady Panthers VS Holmes County

Both teams were strong on the rubber Friday, but Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity defeated Holmes County 3-1. Nikki Lamb allowed just three hits to Holmes County.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Jesslyn Culverhouse singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Holmes County knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning, when Akiela Farrow doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.  In the third Presley Hall singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Lamb earned the win for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity. She surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out three.

Brooke Harrison took the loss for Holmes County. She surrendered three runs on eight hits over six innings, walking one.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity tallied eight hits.  Makaley Boswell and Hall each managed multiple hits for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.  Hall and Boswell each collected two hits to lead Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.  Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Pazley Lamb made the most plays with  seven.

Farrow led Holmes County with two hits in three at bats.

Softball: Lady Panthers VS Slocomb

Both teams were strong on the rubber on Friday, but Slocomb was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity on Friday. Jaylee Stough started the game for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity and recorded 12 outs.

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity lost despite out-hitting Slocomb eight to seven.

#8 took the win for Slocomb. She surrendered one run on six hits over four innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Stough took the loss for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity. She allowed seven hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one.

 #14 started the game for Slocomb. She surrendered zero runs on two hits, walking one

Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity racked up eight hits in the game.  Makaley Boswell, Chloe Nance, and Peyton Walker all managed multiple hits for Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.  Walker, Nance, and Boswell all had two hits to lead Geneva Lady Panthers Varsity.

Slocomb totaled seven hits in the game.  #6 and #13 all collected multiple hits for Slocomb.

Softball Season Preview

That’s right it’s officially Softball season. The Lady Panthers are coming off of a fantastic State Runner-up finish last year, but Coach Johnson and the Lady Panthers aren’t willing to settle for second. The Lady Panthers started their season off on the right foot with a 12-1 win over Andalusia. The Lady Panthers are returning all but one starter this year and are looking to go even farther.
