Geneva Panthers Varsity took the second game of the double header in dramatic fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Houston Academy. The game was tied at ten with Geneva Panthers Varsity batting in the bottom of the ninth when Mason Coskrey singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
A five-run lead in the third inning was just enough for Geneva Panthers Varsity to hold off Houston Academy for the victory. Houston Academy scored eight runs in the failed comeback on a single by D Williams in the fifth, a error in the sixth, a single by T Devane in the sixth, a single by Devane in the seventh, and a single by Williamsin the ninth.
Geneva Panthers Varsity got things started in the first inning when Clayton Dunn drew a walk, scoring one run.
Geneva Panthers Varsity notched three runs in the sixth inning. Coskrey and Eason Griffin each had RBIs in the frame.
Houston Academy scored five runs in the sixth inning. Houston Academy offense in the inning was led by T Jackson and Devane, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Coskrey was on the hill for Geneva Panthers Varsity. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over five and a third innings, striking out three.
C Tamburin was on the mound for Houston Academy. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one. J Beauchamp threw six and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Geneva Panthers Varsity had 11 hits in the game. Ross Bixby, Coskrey, and Damion Kemmerlin all managed multiple hits for Geneva Panthers Varsity. Kemmerlin, Coskrey, and Bixby each managed two hits to lead Geneva Panthers Varsity.
Houston Academy racked up 11 hits in the game. Jackson, Williams, and Devane each collected multiple hits for Houston Academy.

Geneva Panthers Varsity lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat to Houston Academy on Friday. The game was tied at one with Houston Academy batting in the top of the eighth when A Tamburin doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Houston Academy pitchers struck out five, while Geneva Panthers Varsity sat down seven.
Geneva Panthers Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Geneva Panthers Varsity.
Houston Academy knotted the game up at one in the top of the third inning, when T Devane singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Tamburin got the start for Houston Academy. He went eight innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out five and walking zero.
Ross Bixby toed the rubber for Geneva Panthers Varsity. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one. Mason Coskrey threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen.
Clayton Dunn, Kahari McReynolds, and Coskrey each collected one hit to lead Geneva Panthers Varsity.
Houston Academy tallied seven hits in the game. Tamburin and Q Johnson all managed multiple hits for Houston Academy.

With Aubrey On The Mound, Geneva Panthers Varsity Shuts Out Eufaula.
Aubrey Jenkins threw a shutout to lead Geneva Panthers Varsity past Eufaula 5-0 on Thursday.
Geneva Panthers Varsity scored three runs in the fifth inning. Damion Kemmerlin and Ross Bixby each drove in runs during the inning.
A single by E Black in the first inning was a positive for Eufaula.
Jenkins led the Geneva Panthers Varsity to victory on the hill. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out five.
B Weeks was on the hill for Eufaula. He allowed two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one. H Horne threw two innings out of the bullpen.
Kahari McReynolds went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Geneva Panthers Varsity in hits. Geneva Panthers Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Karson Grant had the most chances in the field with eight.
The Geneva Panther Baseball team has got off to a 2-3 start to their season with losses to Enterprise and New Brockton, and wins over Samson and Eufaula. The Panthers are returning a good bit of talent this year while only losing one to graduation last year. The Panthers will have a challenging schedule this year with only 7 games being played in Panther Park. Here is what the remaining schedule looks like for Panther Baseball:
